Founded in 1929 as The American Bureau of Collections, ABC-Amega has a rich history of providing commercial collections, credit and receivable solutions for business-to-business clients throughout the world.
During our history, we have had many accomplishments and landmark events, including being awarded with the President's "E" and "E Star" Awards.
1929 — American Bureau of Collections founded in Buffalo, New York
1960 — Expanded services into foreign markets
1965 — Credit Information division established
1975 — Membership in the Commercial Collection Agency Association of the Commercial Law League of America
1983 — Awarded the U.S. President's "E" Award for outstanding export service
1989 — SoftCall®, first-party receivable portfolio management service introduced
1990 — Awarded the U.S. President's "E Star" Award for outstanding foreign marketing
1999 — Platinum Partner status earned with the Credit Research Foundation
2001 — Introduced web-based Client Access systems for commercial collections and SoftCall® services
2002 — First commercial receivable management firm certified to the COPC-2000® Standard
2003 — Created ABC-Amega Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of The ABC Companies, Inc.
2006 — All ABC-Amega third-party collectors achieve certification as CCAA Senior Certified Collection Professionals;
every new collector is required to achieve this certification
2010 — Achieved contracted supplier status for SunGard’s AvantGard GETPAID receivables solution
2010 — Formed alliances with SunGard’s AvantGard, PredictiveMetrics and AFS Business Services, LLC
2011 — Introduced the latest version of SoftCall® proprietary first-party collection system
2012 — Selected as sole collections industry member of the BDO Alliance USA Business Resource Network
2012 — ICTF Silver Sponsoring Partner
2013 — Launched ABC-Collect, our state-of-the-art, proprietary third-party collection system
2013 — Attained IACC Certification status
2014 — ABC-Amega is named as a Top Workplace in Buffalo, NY
2014 — ABC-Amega is named as a Super 7 Commercial Agency by Collection Advisor
2014 — ABC-Amega celebrates 85 years of providing receivable management solutions
