Gardens of Compassion
The Gardens of Compassion is a unique community garden that grows vegetables and herbs for use in the Community Soup Kitchen at Community Missions in Niagara Falls and Little Wonders Early Childhood Education Center and Day Care. The Gardens of Compassion are also focused on reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness and exploring our common responsibility to care for creation.
Volunteers are need to help are for the gardens as follows:
Monday is our Group Gardening Day: 10:00 AM – Noon. Come and join volunteers from Community Missions’ mental health programs. Group garden day includes gardening time, gardening education, nutrition education, cooking demos, discussion about caring for creation from various cultural perspectives. Rain or shine. No gardening on Holidays.
Weekly Garden Care: Any Time! We need volunteer gardeners throughout the growing season to water and weed the gardens. Gardeners are welcome to come at any time that is convenient for them.
