David I. Herer
Chief Executive Officer
David serves as Chief Executive Officer of ABC-Amega, Inc. He is responsible for setting the company’s long-term vision, strategy and corporate objectives, and for overseeing promotional initiatives to the marketplace. His tenure has been characterized by diversification and enhanced international awareness of the firm’s receivable management services. His focus is on the continued expansion of global capabilities to U.S. and International clients, and leadership in innovative international accounts receivable solutions.
A graduate of George Washington University Law School and the University of Rochester, David joined the company as Vice President and Counsel in 1982, was promoted to President in 1990, and subsequently named CEO in 2000. David’s leadership was instrumental in the company achieving the distinction of being the only private receivable management firm honored with the U.S. President’s “E Star” Award for excellence in foreign trade service and marketing.
In addition to his corporate leadership responsibilities, David’s community leadership and board service includes The Buffalo Fine Arts Academy, Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Buffalo Seminary, CEPA Gallery, the United States District Export Council - Upstate NY, and the World Trade Center Buffalo Niagara. In 2016, David was also appointed to the U.S. Department of Commerce Trade Finance Advisory Council by U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Penny Pritzker. In this capacity, he will advise the Secretary on policies and programs that will expand access to finance for U.S. exporters and educate them on available U.S. government resources.
Paul F. Catalano
President and Chief Operating Officer
As an executive team member with more than 35 years of industry experience, Paul presides over all service lines of ABC-Amega. His strategic focus is optimization of the company's Global Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Client Service efforts. Paul’s business instincts and financial knowledge have been a driving force behind the development of ABC-Amega's portfolio of national and international accounts; and he has helped add noted Fortune 500 companies to the company's extensive list of satisfied clients.
Paul began his tenure with ABC-Amega in 1980 as a Customer Relations Representative and Director of Credit Interchange Groups. He was subsequently awarded a series of promotions including Director of Marketing, Vice President of Marketing, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and Executive Vice President. In each of these positions, Paul’s accessibility and common-sense approach have assisted ABC-Amega in forging lasting relationships with many leading companies in the U.S. and abroad.
Paul currently serves as a member of the CRF (Credit Research Foundation) Board of Trustees. His previous experience includes time as a financial manager for Burroughs Corporation (now Unisys). He holds a BA in Economics from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and has been an active supporter of numerous charity and community organizations including Families of SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy), SUNY Buffalo’s School of Economics, State University College at Buffalo's strategic council for the Television and Film Arts Program, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of WNY, where he was a board member for many years and had been awarded for his dedicated service.
Robert M. States
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
A CPA with more than 30 years of financial services experience, Bob States oversees multiple areas of the company's finance and accounting functions, in addition to corporate planning, and technology resources. He works with the executives team and department managers to assess and improve financial and operational performance throughout the organization. His role is critical to ABC-Amega's strategy for sustained performance and aggressive growth.
Prior to joining ABC-Amega in 2011, Bob effectively served the company in a consulting capacity. He is a former CFO for Liazon Corporation, a Buffalo-based provider of online health insurance services, and Chief Operating Officer for COPC Inc., a leading authority on customer contact center and vendor management operations. Bob began his career in finance as an accountant for industry leader KPMG. He holds an MBA in Finance and Accounting from St. Bonaventure University; and serves on the Board of SABAH (Skating Athletes Bold at Heart).
