ABC-Amega's precursor, the American Bureau of Collections, was founded in 1929 in Buffalo, New York to provide third-party commercial debt collection for U.S. and Canadian creditors. From its origins as a one-man operation, the company has grown into a world-class receivable management firm supporting thousands of small to multinational clients worldwide.

- 2002 - First commercial receivable management firm certified to the COPC-2000® Standard
- 2002 - Established office in Beijing, China
- 2003 - Launched SoftCall internal and client accessible collection system
- 2003 - Launched ABC-Amega Inc. -- a global receivable management firm
